How to Refer

Crown Street Medical Centre - Allergy & Immunology

Macquarie Respiratory & Sleep - ILD & Autoimmune Diseases

Referrals can be sent via fax, post, or secure electronic referral. A valid specialist referral from a GP or another specialist is required for Medicare rebates.

Once the referral is received, my rooms will contact the patient to arrange an appointment time. Patients can also call the rooms directly to enquire about appointment availability.

What to Include in Your Referral

To help me prepare for the consultation and make the most of the patient's appointment, please include:

  • Clinical question — what you'd like me to assess or advise on
  • Relevant history — key symptoms, duration, and any relevant past medical history
  • Medications — current medication list, including any recent changes
  • Investigations — any relevant blood tests, imaging, or previous specialist reports
  • Allergy-specific — for food or drug allergy referrals, please include the reaction details (drug, timing, symptoms, severity) as well as any relevant documentation (for example emergency department discharge summaries for anaphylaxis)

Feedback & Communication

I aim to send a detailed consultation letter back to you within two weeks of seeing your patient. If you have questions about a shared patient, don't hesitate to get in touch with my rooms.
